Movie Review

'Captain Phillips' WHALE he make it out alive?

'Captain Phillips' is a movies based on a real life events staring Tom Hank as Captain Phillips and his dangerous journey through the Horn of Africa. Captain Phillips was directed by Paul Greengrass and producer by Dana Brunetti, Micheal De Luca and Scott Rudin. This film had many action and suspenseful scenes some including violence and intense language, rated PG 13.
Tom Hanks playing a terrific role as Captain Phillips, playing a completely believable Captain of a ship, as well as the crew members. The pirates, Faysal Ahmed, Mahat M. Ali, Barkhad Abdirahman did an excellent job playing their roles, especially Barkhad Abdi as his role of Adbuwali Muse, the main pirate throughout the movie. They had done a great of casting.
This movie began with Captain Phillips saying goodbye to his wife and getting the cargo ship ready to sail around the Horn of Africa. Shortly after deporting trouble strikes the ship, Maersk Alabama. Two small skiffs approach the ship following there moves. Phillips made a fake call driving one skiff away but leaving one. Then creating waves the second skiff finally leaves. Captain Phillips sure of his tactics, came sailing the next day, but sure enough the skiff appeared again, this time more determined than the before. The crew had was all working together to prepare the ship before the pirates invaded. The ship trying all they can was not enough, letting the four pirates invade the ship and find the Captain. The crew had been hiding in the engine room until it was safe to come up. Captain Phillips, Having a gun to his head was forced to show the pirates around the ship looking for the rest of the crew. Phillips and his crew planning clever tricks to keep them away for the crew. The crew eventually captures Muse, the head pirate, in exchange for Captain Phillips back and to send them back on the life boat. The pirates capture Phillips and take off leaving the ship and the crew.
I enjoyed watching this movie a lot, it was thrilling and exciting and I always love watching movies when you never know what's going to happen. I wouldn't recommend kids under the age of 13 watching this, it could get intense and contain some explicit language that wouldn't be best for children. But if you are older than 12 than I am sure you will really enjoy this movie like I did. And also it teaches you why you need to always be prepared for emergencies. Overall I would rate this as a 9 out of 10 stars.
